Subaru makes five trims of the new Legacy. The first three options, which are the Base, Premium, and Limited, rely on 2.5-liter engines that make 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. The other two trims available at Johnson Subaru of Cary run on 2.4-liter turbocharged engines. One of these turbo engines pumps out an impressive 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
The Legacy uses a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission. Plus, it comes standard with all-wheel drive. This gives it an advantage when the roads get slippery. Sending power to all four wheels instead of just two can result in increased traction. On that note, you'll also appreciate that the Legacy has a Traction Control System as a standard component.
