What's New in the Subaru Outback?

The Outback comes with something extra, a new design, adaptive headlamps, a seatbelt signal alert, a memory system for the rear seats, and a new 11.6-inch tablet-style interface across all trims.

Engine and Performance

The Outback features a pair of four-cylinder powertrains. The standard engine comes in 2.5-liter generating 182 horsepower and a total torque of 176 pound-feet of torque. The power generated is more than enough for most Morrisville drivers, making the Outback not underpowered with an off-road feature.

The 2.5-liter powertrain is propelled through a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). The CVT mimics an eight-speed gearbox with an EPA rating, ranging at 33mpg on a highway drive.

A turbocharged 2.4-liter optional powertrain for XT trim level generates 260 horsepower and a 277 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a quick response to foot input and a proportionally increased acceleration. The line-up comes in 8.7 inches of ground clearance with an added advantage for the Onyx XT trim with 18-inch wheels.

The all-wheel-drive Outback can navigate even tricky Raleigh rutted roads. Its double-wishbone suspension comes in a dual-mode of (X-mode) system to offer more stability and grip on any muddy or dunes encounter. The standard engine towing capabilities range at 2,700 pounds, while a 2.4-liter turbocharged version tows up to 3,500 pounds.

Exterior and Interior Designs
