I had my first appointment at Johnson Subaru today after moving to Cary from Northern California. I was somewhat anxious beforehand about the type of service I would receive, as the small CA dealership that had serviced my 2008 Outback for years was excellent. At first I was taken aback by how huge Johnson's combined Hyundai/Subaru operation is, but i was quickly put at ease by my service manager Jackie Sullivan, who found me in the lounge area and took notes on my service needs. She was friendly, helpful, and made me feel more relaxed about waiting. My car was serviced in just an hour - the time flew by in their comfortable lounge with hot and cold beverages and snacks. A business office with computer is available to customers in an adjacent hallway, and immaculate restrooms are nearby. I also had time to look at a few new 2014 Subarus in the lot. We bought a used Subaru Forester and noticed a couple of problems within a couple of weeks after taking it home. We noted these problems with either the sales or service dept, but we had to wait several weeks before taking the car back in. When we got there, one of the problems (2d electronic key not working) had not been put in the record and we were faced with a $175 fee.The sales manager on duty, Scott, took the car over to service himself and within minutes the key was replaced and reprogrammed. On a big purchase like a car, I shop around like crazy. If I think your dealership or salesperson sucks I won't buy. On my most recent car purchase, I decided on an Outback, and ended up at Johnson Subaru right after Carmax. I felt comfortable dealing with them right off the bat. Scott greeted us promptly and set us up with Debbie within a couple minutes of walking in. Both were very knowledgable and professional through out the whole process. If you're out of Ft Bragg or Seymour Johnson, bring your military ID and ask about their military discounts.
